Nightshots of Earth
Here are three interesting photo's taken of Earth, at night, from space
Americas --- Asia & Australia --- Europe & Africa
Each has their own points to note.
In the Americas photo, note how 95% of the population of Canada (the worlds second largest country) is situated within 100 miles of the border with the USA. This is also the worlds longest undefended border.
In the Asia and Australia photo, note the course of the Trans Siberian railway with its feeder routes. Note the density of light in the main Japanese islands and also the scarcity of light across most of Australia.
In the Europe and Africa Photo you can see that the Mediterranean coastline of Spain and the south of France is well lit. Most of the Arab countries are relatively dark once you are past Israel and most of Africa is without light all the way from Tunisia to Cape Town Although the Course of the Nile is clearly visible. |
