Beginner’s Meeting January 12th 2007
Venue: Cliddesden Primary School

Open:  Dave Shave Wall, the Chairman was delayed, caught in traffic so Bob Trevan opened the meeting.

Minutes: The draft minutes of the previous meetings have been published on the website.

Matters Arising/Correspondence: The Society has been mentioned in articles in the last two issues of Astronomy Now.
Group to travel to Astrofest this year.  Possibility of group travel is being investigated.

Main Item: Andria Harbinson presented a review of our current knowledge of the inner planets, Mercury and Venus.
Questions and Discussion followed.

The Chairman arrived and showed his recent image of Saturn.

Coffee:

Constellation of the Month: An interactive discussion about Orion and objects within the constellation.

Telescope Surgery:  New member, Simon Allen, has recently purchased a 5” Celestron Goto Telescope and demonstrated it’s simplicity and portability.  Unfortunately the weather did not allow for observing.
