The Chairman, Dave Shave-Wall welcomed all.

Dave Shave-Wall “The Astronomical Journey of DSW”
The Chairman gave a light-hearted and entertaining account of his interest in astronomy, his involvement with BAS and his building of his own observatory.  All achieved in the last 3.5 years.

What’s up?

John Stapleton gave a brief overview of what to look for in the night sky during the coming weeks.

Observing:  
As the sky was clear for the first time in several meetings telescopes were set up on the playground and observations were made of Venus, Saturn and Mercury.  Some visitors who had never seen a planet through a telescope before were therefore treated to three planets in one evening.  These observations continued for the rest of the meeting.
